We’re the Robertsons - Jeff, Stephanie, John, Maddie, Gigi, and Lucy (our Samoyed/velocirapt0r who sometimes makes an appearance at the store while waiting for her grooming appointment).

We’re all native Texans, and we decided to put down roots in Cedar Park/Leander. Jeff and Stephanie have worked in tech for the last ten years, and in 2023 decided we wanted to look for something to invest in. We were taking the kids to a local bookstore once a week, but each kid needed something special, and we didn’t have the expertise in reading to help them on their journey. We started looking for a children’s-specific store in our area, and were shocked to see that there were none. Shortly after that, Stephanie woke up one morning and told Jeff over coffee that she’d had a dream that they owned a children’s bookstore, and it was marvelous!

That was August 2023, and by December, the shelves were painted, the books were inventoried, and we opened our doors to our very first customers!

It’s been a wild ride, full of education, late nights, and lots of laughter. In June 2025, Stephanie made the decision to leave tech, and jump into the bookstore with wild abandon. We thank everyone who helped us make it here, especially Deborah Jakobitz (better known as Mom, Granny, and the Granny Nanny) who has graciously run the store for the last year and a half.

We can’t wait to keep finding new stories, ways to represent our friends and neighbors in literature and entertainment, and creating fun new ways to engage our readers.
